Would you stay at this Hotel? Astonishing Cat 1 Issues found by Protest Engineers

Here at Protest ES Ltd we partner across the UK with several large hotel chains. We carry out programmes of EICR (fixed wire testing) Pat Testing, emergency light testing, thermal imaging, fire door inspections and electrical projects/remedial works for these hotels on rolling programmes.

The below pictures clearly show some of the dangerous situations our engineers came across whilst recently carrying out fixed wire testing, PAT testing and thermal imaging. Unbelievably the hotel was in full operation.

Sadly, this scenario is typical of the types of dangerous scenarios our engineers find on an almost daily basis whilst carrying out our electrical compliance services.

The site contact was made aware of these situations immediately and corrective repairs were carried out free of charge by our engineers there and then.

We often get told by clients “We don’t have time or have any budget to carry out electrical testing compliance works and the resultant remedial repairs.”

Please be aware that the law clearly states that it does not except or recognise lack of budget or not having time to carry out the compliance works as a viable excuse for not doing them.
