What is an IEE electrical certificate?
Known as the IEE (Institute of Electrical Engineering) wiring regulations is the standard that all electrical installations must adhere to. It might also be referred to as a Part P certificate.
Here at Protest ES Ltd we are proud to partner with a wide range of retail clients throughout the UK.
It is imperative, especially where members of the public are visiting, that these spaces are kept electrically safe and without risk.
We provide our clients a wide range of electrical testing compliance services which are carried out by our multi skilled engineers who are all highly qualified and DBS checked as standard.
An electrical certificate, or Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR), is what you'll be given after a Protest ES Ltd electrical engineer has checked all the wiring and made sure it meets the required safety standards.
In our experience if we can carry out more than one service in the same visit, then this can save the client a vast amount of money and gives far less disruption to their normal working routines. This is especially important within the retail sector.
The below dangerous situation was found in one of the city centre flagship sites for one of the UK’s largest well known bookmakers.
This long term client of ours have several thousand sites across the UK. Our engineers were carrying out several electrical compliance services within the same visit and this consisted of EICR Fixed Wire testing, PAT Testing, Thermal Imaging and Emergency Light Testing.
It was a serious concern that the live, faulty socket shown below had been left in this situation for weeks on end. Furthermore, it could easily be accessed by the public, meaning there was an immediate risk of electric shock or fire.
Our site contact was made aware of the issue straight away and our engineers made it safe and replaced the broken socket for a brand new one with the design and colour being specified by the site contact.
Here on the left, you can see the condition our engineers found this socket in, and the below picture shows how they left it.
