“Shocking” Cat 1 discovered in well known major retail store

Whilst on site inside a well known major retail store, our engineers were carrying out an EICR (fixed wire testing) and they discovered this serious Cat 1 defect.

The picture above shows 2 x RCBOs which were still live and the cables had been left snipped and exposed, the distribution board cover was unlocked. These cables still had live outgoing ends so there was a real danger of electric shock or fire.

Upon discovery our engineers informed the client immediately and the live cables were removed and made safe, free of charge there and then.
