Protest engineers put the ‘spotlight’ on electrical compliance for fitness giant

To keep clients legally compliant, when our engineers carry out the EICR (fixed wire testing) we often have to inspect and test circuits that power the outside lighting and security lighting to client’s buildings.

We partner with one of the UK’s leading fitness & health centre providers and we carry out programmes of EICR (fixed wire testing) pat testing, emergency light testing, fire door inspections and electrical projects works for them for all of their sites across the UK.

The below picture clearly shows the dangerous situation our engineers came across upon discovery of an outside light that was just above head height and easily accessible by the public and visitors to the site. The light was in full use (live) but had exposed cables that were easily accessible.

This picture clearly demonstrates really poor workmanship, total ignorance and lack of any respect for health and safety by the installer.

Sadly, this scenario is typical of the types of dangerous scenarios our engineers find on an almost daily basis whilst carrying out the electrical compliance services. The site contact was made aware of the situation immediately and corrective repairs were carried out free of charge by our engineers there and then.
