Electrical Safety in a Care Home was not taken ‘Care’ of

Our engineers were recently on site at one of the largest Care Home providers in the UK. They were carrying out Emergency Lighting and PAT Testing works as part of an ongoing 3 testing year programme for various care homes spread across the UK within their portfolio.

Protest ES Ltd engineers discovered this serious issue on one of the extension leads that was being used without a plug top cover and more worryingly this was very easily accessible.

The client was made aware straight away of this extremely serious issue and taken to the scene. This was made safe and corrected immediately by our engineers free of charge, and the incident was logged and included on the clients reports. As a business unfortunately we continue to see incidents like this on a daily basis.
