Category 1 repairs - why are they needed?

We carry out programmes of EICR (fixed wire testing) pat testing, emergency light testing, thermal imaging, fire door inspections and electrical projects/remedial works for these hotels on rolling programmes.

The below picture clearly show some of the dangerous situations our engineers came across whilst recently carrying out EICR fixed wire testing, PAT Testing and thermal imaging at a UK leading Arts College.

This picture clearly demonstrates that the protective blanks were missing within the distribution board which was located in a public area and was not locked.

This meant that anybody could easily open up the distribution board and because the protective blanks were missing they would have access to the live parts situated behind it and a servere risk of injury caused by electrical shock.

The site contact was made aware of this immediately and corrective repairs were carried out free of charge by our engineers there and then.
